Shaping our future together
Yesterday, we hosted our final member workshop to shape our strategy for 2025-30. A huge thank you to all 152 organisations who attended one of the six workshops and all 190 of you who shared feedback in our member survey.
The gaps in outcomes between children from low-income households and their wealthier peers remain as wide as they were a decade ago. We are ambitious about closing these gaps, which means our new strategy needs to create a movement across all our member organisations.
We have heard from you what helps you to collaborate successfully and what holds you back. The key takeaways from both our survey results and member workshops were the importance of building strong connections and trustwith each other; having clear, shared goals and awareness of other members’ roles in systems change; developing leadership skills and mindsets to work differently; and accessing funding that promotes and incentivises working together. We are revising our membership offer and our member commitments to maximise the potential of our collaboration

Together, we hold incredible power to shape the future of children and young people. Our members are working directly with over 3 million children and young people every year in 22,000 education settings across every local authority in England.
Regional collaboration will be a key feature in our new strategy, and we’ll combine your insights from the workshops with our ecosystem map data to support this. If you haven’t yet shared your data and would like to be represented on our Member Directory and Ecosystem Map, please email drooney@faireducation.org.uk for your organisation’s unique link to the member survey.
We are excited to continue our conversations with all of you and to launch our 2025-30 strategy this autumn. Don’t wait to get involved; there are plenty of current opportunities to participate – from our Youth Steering Group recruitment to collective action working groups, and our upcoming workshop on mergers and partnerships.
