Maternity leave announcement and an exciting opportunity to join our team!

We have two pieces of exciting news to share with you this week!

Firstly, we are delighted to share that Sam is pregnant and expecting a baby in February 2022.

Which brings us on to our second piece of news - we will be recruiting for additional support whilst Sam is on maternity leave.

We might be a little biased but we do believe this is one of the most exciting jobs going!

Formal job description, salary and application window will open in October. In the meantime, we want to hear informal interest. Please write to us at info@faireducation.org.uk

(You can find out more about the role in the video below)

As you may know, The Fair Education Alliance is currently run by both of us (Sam Butters and Gina Cicerone) in a Co-CEO model.

Gina will continue to lead The Fair Education Alliance as CEO, but we are looking for someone to lead on our Collective Action Work with our 250 member organisations. Someone who can connect, mobilise and facilitate the network to work together to create change and make education fairer for all children.

We want someone who:

1. Wakes up each day not only with a passion to tackle education equality, but also a belief and optimism that things can change if we work better together across the education system.

2. Someone who enjoys keeping up to date with policy and practice across education and social policy and naturally spots the challenges and opportunities for change, and has ideas for how to turn that into action.

3. Someone with positive energy and excellent facilitation skills to work with people from all walks of life across our network - business leaders, third sector professionals, teachers, young people and policymakers to connect them, gather their ideas and mobilise them to drive change in the system.

4. Someone that has experience in and can effectively lead and manage a team to execute all of this, through delivering the highest quality engaging and fun events - including the Alliance's Annual Summit and Annual Impact Festival, deliver all of our communications and membership engagement activity and lead a project to develop digital tools to help members work together and take action.

If this sounds like you, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for!

Best wishes,

Sam Butters and Gina Cicerone, Co-CEO's of The Fair Education Alliance
